Wat Chedi Liam

Featured Replies

Quite by chance I passed the Chedi yesterday...very impressive,.

So I googled today to find out more and found that the site arround was the Lanna Kindom capital and was only rediscovered some 20 years ago after being flooded many times.

It seems that the whole site can take a few hours to see and horse drawn carts are available.

I've been here some 7 years now and had never heard of it....guess I will have to go for the trip soon.

I would have thought it would have been as much an attraction for visitors as Doi Suthep, without the hassels of getting there

Quite a few reviews on www.tripadisor.com Wiang Kum Kam

6 years here myself and wasn't aware of it...thanks

It was a great place to explore years ago before they commercialised it with horse drawn carts. Also the fine arts department have had a go at it with some sad results. Most of it was hidden away years back and great fun to explore.

Been to Wiang Kum Kam a few times over the years when visitors have been in town. Really quite interesting.

Yes, and just being in one of those horse carts is a fun experience for kids already. (Without going all the way to Lampang. Where there is less to see.)
