July 20, 201411 yr Good to know but I don't think every single one of the daily thousands? of foreigners that enter Thailand will be scrutinized, despite the immigration directive. Therefore, I'm not surprised your friend had no problems. Those who fit the profile of a visa/border runner, have had previous overstays and/or who look like they're "at the end of the road" will probably be, but everyone else will probably still get through without so much as being questioned about anything.
