To the Philippines then?

Featured Replies

It looks like things are getting a little more complicated for those of us who have been long staying it here on tourist visas. I'm just curious about how many of you are planning a game change to the Philippines. Any thoughts or opinions on specific areas would be appreciated. I'd like to form a list of the most popular areas. That way I can pick the least and remain the only handsome "falang" in a town full of desperate babes. Cheers

LOL at present I live in Subic Bay area got more than enough here here.

Eighteen years there, since I retired, before I threw up my hands and came to Thailand.

Thailand is much more civilized, and relaxing. Where I stayed in Subic Bay, The beach was filthy. It was called Tae (feces) beach, because of the garbage, dog and pig carcasses, and plastic that washed up ...every day...in front of my home on Baloy Beach. The buses would come in from Manila, full of reveling karaoke people, who kept me awake all night.

On the brighter side, the girls spoke english, I had permanent residency, could visit my children weekly and had many friends. I was never bored, and would push my boat out from by beach house and cruise the floating bars and cleaner beachs.

There is a strip of gogo bars, which is the focus of that town. If you like pool, darts, gogo dancers, and mostly American retired sailors, then try it on.

The rainy season is horrendous, compared to what I have up in North Thailand and Chiang Mai. Typhoons come in waves. Lots of flooding.

Good luck...say hi to the General.

It was mostly because of my abuse of alcohol, that I decided to get out. Partially under control now.
