Police & Military in Bangrak

Featured Replies

Just driven through Bangrak and there were both Police and Military up to something. Did not stop to find out but they were talking to a foreigner just inside a bar/cafe. Did not seem heated but this is the first time I have seen a Military presence down here and wonder if this heralds things to come?

I saw them this afternoon starting at Fishermans and then no the way back they were, as you say, in Bang Rak. I think this is to do with checking on is in the hotels/rental properties/houses etc that was posted on here yesterday. Basically everyone has to report who they have staying with them and now this is being enforced.

There has been military here on K.P for 3 days now, the hummer is quite cool

and loads off pick ups with army in ,we saw them come off the Raja on Monday night.

Oh we shall see what shall prevail?

Wasn't Samui exempted from the curfew a few months ago ?

Maybe they just realized and want to set the record staight now.

Bill boards had to be removed from the public road. Establishments also may have been asked to provide proper paperwork.

Been some army on Koh Tao of late as well but no reports of them actually doing anything but showing a presence at the moment.

Continued HERE.
