Hi

Im using a mac mini connected to my TV.

I need a home theatre system, i live in a condo 28 sqm.

I dont use the TV in, all my content is coming from the web or local fliles on my macmini

I need a home theatre with 4 speakers + sub

I dont want big speakers.

Would be good if I could also use bluetooth or wifi to send music from my phone to the amp

Ive been looking at sonos but seems a bit crazy that whilst they are wifi they need power cord not rechargable. I dont have a problem running thin wires down the walls so amp > speakers doesnt necessarily need to be wireless (but want to send music form my phone to amp)

I guess i dont need a cd drawer at all.

Whats the best thing i could get for 10,000 baht. Whats the best thing i could get for 20,000 (not sure budget yet).

Thanks.

I have Sonos units and I'm very happy with them. Personally I prefer to keep wifi to a minimum and so I connect them via ethernet cables and have turned their built-in wifi off.

20,000B will not buy you much with a Sonos label! You will be looking more at systems by Samsung and LG at that price. Dont think those will be rechargeable either though. Why do you want them to be rechargeable anyway?

You don't need Sonus, just get a Logitech Sqeezebox. I haven't looked for them in Thailand, but they are available on Amazon. It streams music and net radio, connects wirelessly to your mac and also has an onboard DAC. The only thing you'll need is an amp and speakers (or indeed Active speakers with onboard amps). Some perfect Dynaudios in Amarin Plaza!

On that budget and in your apartment, my advice is to keep it simple.

It doesnt get a whole lot simpler than that, and some folk will undboubtedly ask where you bought a TV with 'those speakers'. That magazine has always had a thing for Cambridge Audio, but I had one of their stereo amps for years and it never let me down - as with anything, make sure you get a proper factory warranty - Piyanas sell CA but I dont know who provides repairs in Thailand. When my Oppo broke down I just took it back to Piyanas and picked it up from them a month later - that's the kind of service you need to look for. Good luck.

Aren't they all discontinued? So no firmware updates?

By the time you have added an amp and speakers they aren't cheap or very wireless either.
