The Old Sugar Reef , Cherntalay

Featured Replies

So it was recently sold and is now an Italian Restaurant / Bar .

Happened to meet a friend there last week as it was kind of in the middle of where we were both travelling from.

No changes that I could see from before , except perhaps the prices.

We sat for maybe 3 or 4 hours having a chat before asking for the bill.

Ok so its a restaurant now and not a bar , but , 130thb for a bottle of Tiger ?

I nearly fell over , my bad I guess for not asking the prices first . But they did say that in happy hour the bottles are only 80thb. Lol.

Guess ill not be calling in again in a hurry.

Shame really as the new owner seems like a nice bloke , but at those prices think we will be meeting in Bang Jo in the future.

You have been sitting 3 to 4 hours and blocking a table and now you complain about the price for a bottle of beer? How many did you have? One bottle and two straws?

(/irony off)

Sorry, but I could not resist. burp.gifsorry.gif

We were the only ones there for most of the time we were there. The place was empty.
We did order food.
Probably had around 15 or 20 between us.

Best to let the owner know his prices are whacked.

Did that in my hood regarding a local drink, the owner came to his senses, finally heard us and dropped it to a somewhat normal pricing.
