Best picnic location on Koh Samui

Featured Replies

Can someone recommend a good picnic location on the island? Maybe some favorite beach area or ??? Don't want a long hike to get to it, but do prefer some seclusion, not right in front of a resort. We want to get away for this upcoming Mother's Day for a picnic lunch.

Thanks for your help

I don't know Koh Samui, but look for a beach with trees and facing the dominant winds.

2 reasons: wind from the sea will cool down the place a bit and also wind will keep moskito activities down - trees: shadow.

Many years ago it used to be Soi Green Mango at 2am!

Or the mountain viewpoint. Usually quit up there. wink.png

Food court at Tesco or BigC. Ever since Central opened these places are nearly deserted.
Food court Tesco still bustling as usual, and BigC is still same same quiet as it has always been.

With their prices, Central aren't gonna make much difference for the type of people who likes to eat and shop at Tesco.

There are some really spectacular secluded places, but requires a 1 km or so trek, so I won't mention it.

But there are some OK one between Choeng Mon and Chaweng. When you head from Choeng Mon, and suddenly there should be an area with a 7-11 and some houses, there will be a small road heading for the ocean. There is like a steel beam blocking the road, but you should be able to take a motorbike or walk anyway. It's about 200 walk and you'll get a small private beach all for yourself.

There really is a ton of places you can find nice quiet beaches with out a bunch of people or resorts... with out a long walk.

This is Ban Por beach, there are several access points.... never see big crowds there...

Ban Tai beach is nice too, rarely many people there, although now bit of a walk, from parking area....(nice sand for kids)

Several nice beaches south of Thaling Ngam watch for signs for Conrad, but there are several roads that end up with quiet beaches thumbsup.gif

Paradise Park Farm. IMO one of the most relaxing places on the island.

The most relaxing place for me would be a place in stunning nature, easily accessible and without any others
