Hi,

I just read an article on FriendsinThailand.com that the Immigration will no longer renew visas for students who have already been in Thailand for one year on an ED visa. 

After one year, they will have to leave Thailand and apply for a new ED visa at an embassy overseas. 

 

Can someone confirm that this news is accurate? Also, does this mean that schools such as Walen, Unity, TLS are no longer a reliable option for getting a visa to stay legally in Thailand while studying Thai?
