i just want to know why most Thai's aren't using any contraceptives. the most of my staff are females and none of them are using those. they got pregnant every now and then but keep complaining about the costs. though i ask why don't take precautions? most replies: i don't know.

is it a cultural, religious or educational thing? according to my information contraceptives are available at the pharmacy.although the use of condos seems pretty rare especially among the younger generations.

just curious.

You seem to be quite intimate with your female staff.

Does your wife know?

Wonder if he is Japanese? Perhaps he should read the topic about penis-cutith offith by scorned wife.

Why don't you give them free condoms? Saves a lot of maternity leave.

Careful with the advice you are giving the man.

If there is a hole in one of them, he could be liable to pay costs and upbringing of the child.

yes she knows. if you work for more than three years together you chat about almost everything.

Things must have changed, OP.

I remember, I was with my staff for 18 years and the only thing we spoke about was work and deadlines.

I was in my local pharmacy today, putting together a small medical-kit for an upcoming journey, and noticed a small heap of 'madonna-tablet packs' on the counter, clearly a very popular item in a university-town !

In Iceland, for example, 66 percent of births were to unmarried women, as were 55 percent in Sweden, 54 percent in Norway and 46 percent in Denmark. The United States unwed rate of 40 percent fell in about the middle of this group of countries, about equal to that of the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

So to the OP if you have even a vague idea what you are talking about what is the rate of births to unwed mothers in Thailand?

Calling it “The Great Crossover,” a report by academics and social activists shows that for the first time in history the median age of American women having babies is lower than the median age of marriage–25.7 and 26.5, respectively.

you are quiet right about the great story MrT but i am not banging my staff( even there are one or two were the temptation is there but i am a 100% faithfull husband).it is just confusing that even 19 or 20 year old gals got already one ore two kids and the genitor has done a runner. i just got a 19 year old boy as a steward and he is already a father.don't get me wrong when i was young i also took what i could get but at least precausion were in place.

Thailand's fertility rate is very low, well below replacement level. According to the CIA Factbook 2014, the fertility rate in Thailand is 1.5 children per woman, which puts it WELL BELOW the US, the UK, France, Belgium, Russia, etc. Most Thai women only have 1-2 children, and are not having their first child until their mid 20s.

However, a certain type of Thai woman that many foreigners only associate with, often do not use them, are getting knocked up at a very young age, and are having lots of kids. I'm guessing it is the type of business you are in that is skewing your perception

Sex education. It's an education thing. Parents don't talk about it, teachers don't teach it. It is taboo.

What type of socio-economic background would you say these women hail from, DP25?

When I first got to Thailand women had 6 children each. As I got older and less active the birth rate also declined. Now it's 1 child per woman. If this is my fault I apologize and you young guys better get to work. I really think they should start having more children not less. I think most Thais engaged in business would agree with this. Unless you want labor to cost a lot more money get out there and start having kids.

Apparently a lot of foreign punters visiting naughty bars have the same problem ,Always asking where and how to get viagra but to cheap to buy a family pack of durex.

Health issues aside (test and so on) that should be rewarded. Thailand needs more children and bigger kids to play football and taller children to play basketball.

Grandparents took care of native North American kids. If good enough for American good enough for Thai.

No, Western values, to wit a lessening of the desire to "marry" and dedicated couples just co-habitating,, skews those figures.
