Popular Post brd
watching violence on TV and on all the Available DVDs plus playing mostly violent video games and adding alcohol with friends showing off you have the recipe for murders not only in Koh PhanGan the naughtiest but even in Koh Samui like often in the old days prior its airport opening but all over Thailand being non educated to be added. Shame for the Smiles so fake seen all around. So sad incident that should have never happened ending with this death. The three boys are accomplices and the murderer looking for his all life to be ruined. Edited August 20, 2014 by brd

Popular Post slipperylobster
German man had every right to be angry at the kids. Imagine if a group of farangs sat on a Tuk Tuk or other Thai owned vehicle. But getting angry seems to almost always lead to the inevitable beating/stabbing/killing. They might have had a previous run in with the victim.

Education and behavior of many youths far below average level because of failed education system. That is part of it, but a lot of the blame lies with the parents, many of which just don't seem to make any effort to instill values and morals in their children. Violence in general is also to do with the incredible levels of corruption that run throughout Thai society.

Popular Post rethaier
First RIP to the poor gentleman. If the smile does not work walk away and come back later when they are gone. I have only lived in Thailand for 4 years but I know that it is not a great idea to be agressive with a Thai and risk him losing face especially when mixed with alcohol and we all know the consequences of that. It seems that violence is the first resort for most Thai men and I for one intend not to provoke it.
Popular Post laislica
Someone sitting on your bike, happened to me before, just smile at them, they move off, and you get on with your life So that's what you will do if I sat on your bike? What if the smile doesn't work? What's your next approach? A good question. Since he was with his Thai gf, there was no language barrier. You would have to tackle the problem or get a taxi home. Getting angry in Thailand is never the right approach though. It should never have happened. RIP
Deli
I doubt that they get the punishment they deserve, 99 at least. More likely 500 Baht and a "please don't do it again"
Popular Post JarekN
Reality is that NOTHING will change untill the local government and police take those cases seriously. So maybe freaking out at the guys was not the best idea, still that was no reason for em to kill him. Thailand doesn't give a flying f about us and as much as I like the place I am really not sure if it is the place that I would want to call my home. I've travelled a lot and the place I felt safest at was Cuba for the simple reason that no one would be stupid enough to hurt a tourst as their local government would make sure they disappear. I guess things in TH have not gotten bad enough and they have not lost enough money to wake up. Hopefully with the way things are going it won't be long before they see the light...

Benmart
What a terrible way to go.....RIP Yes indeed....we must all learn from this...May he RIP. Yes indeed. Groups of people, fueled by alcohol or other substances is great reason to exercise extreme caution when interacting with them.I was trained to back off and call for reinforcements. In this case, it seems that the murdered man may have succumbed to emotion in lieu of backing off. I don't know I wasn't there. Stay safe folks and walk away with your life. RIP dear man.

Popular Post SGD
Someone sitting on your bike, happened to me before, just smile at them, they move off, and you get on with your life Another apologist for the unacceptable behaviour of Thai youth (and their elders). Why is it never the Thai's fault ? Are you that desperate to live in or just like Thailand that you'll put up with a never ending shafting at the behest of thugs and lawless teens ? Sad but the way things are these days, now it has mostly gone to sh*t.
