"Happy radio" are there talks shows or anything, what does this station broadcast?

I would like to see their news in English cover a bit more of the world.

It was shut down (along with the only other radio station that plays Western music - C.M. Radio) a day or two after the coup. Been silence ever since.

I'm guessing the P.D. is a Thai guy (or gal) in their 50's who lived in the U.S. during the 1970's-1980's as I don't see how anyone who hadn't lived there and was familiar with the music scene in the U.S. and U.K. during that period in history could have been exposed to and be aware of such a diverse range of material - some very obscure.

They play 1950's-1990's rock, pop, jazz, as well as Latin music in the afternoon. They also play some current material. For C.M., it is superb. Actually even in the U.S. or U.K. it would get high marks. They used to transmit from KSK at one time. Not sure if they moved.

Who listens to radio anymore for the music? maybe while driving, the only radio I would listen to was talk show from back home and podcasts.

I do. There are so many specialist radio stations now you can listen to virtually whatever you want, and it doesn't take much Internet bandwidth to do it.

Plus you can wire it into your sound system.

I listen to the radio while I'm sitting in traffic jams around Chiang Mai. Only due to bad timing or appointments, but it does happen.

Sadly, my car doesn't come with internet.

Last time I was back in Oz, I borrowed a heap of audio books from the local library, and I load a couple of stories onto a USB and listen to these when I tire of hearing Thai music or re-runs of Tom Dooley. (1960s or earlier for you young 'uns out there!)

But if your phone does, you can easily buy a little Bluetooth FM transmitter which does the job for me.

Especially as in the Middle East, English radio is not only scarce but generally cr@p.
