Anyone use a 7 inch AMPE A72 phone tablet ?

Featured Replies

they seem to be around 2500 baht - $80US , but someone here in California has them for $40

2100 3G dual sim, dual camera , 8gb internal and SD card......blah blah blah.....

here are the specs

anyway does anyone have one and what do you think for $40 - 1200 baht

or is there a reason NOT to get it and spend 3 times as much for an ASUS Fonepad ( I might just buy both anyway)

The AMPE A72 seems like a decent tablet , GPS , phone and if you break it , no big deal....

but there are only a handful of reviews with this name , I am sure it is sold by others that might have more reviews

what do you think ?

Ampe tablets are sold frequently on Chinese online stores such as AliExpress, there are a number of video reviews on You Tube. For $40 and those specs, seemingly not a bad deal. Check the apps, make sure that it has Google Play and that it will connect to it.

The biggest problem I have seen with cheap tablets is that the quality of the batteries is crap, and they go south very fast. After a couple of months of use they will not hold a charge beyond a couple of hours. One cheap tablet I saw had a battery explode inside, with enough force that the exploded battery bent the device and cracked the screen. The 2000 THB tablet turned out to be not such a great deal after all when it had to be replaced after only a few months.

A branded tablet will be assembled from better components and have a better quality of battery.

Thanks......I just like the idea that its 3g and cheap , most of the GSM tablets in the USA sold are not 3g or carrier locked and much more $$$$

you can get cheap data only Sim cards on ebay so you do not always need to find WiFi

But good idea about the Google Play store , if it is not on there is there a way to install it or would I be out of luck ?
