Moving To Kho Samui

Featured Replies

:o Hello there. I will be possibly moving to Samui soon for something like 18 months.

I am looking for a long term rental house, 2/3 bedroom not in the mist of madness.

It does not have to be on the beach, actually hilldide would be good too.

O I forgot, it has to be Pet friendly, we have a well trained middle size dog.

Any general info on housing will be appreciated. Thank you.

Do you have a budget?

I do not Know the market there. some friend that live there told be on the reason of 15000-20000 for a good place.

What I am interested are area where long term resident stay not the Tourist spot.

Also I live in Malaysia right now and I own a Car. How difficult/expensive is to import a used Car?

thank you for any info on this.

PS. We are Talking about moving September this year.

Tahnk you :o

Book a place for a week, then hire a car/bike & drive around, anything for rent will have a sign on it & you can usually move in in a day or two. If you don't know the island very well, then take the time to research the area/road your interested in as you may find the quiet daytime street you looked at turns into a a drag strip for local kids on bikes or a short cut in the night time to avoid busy tourist roads. Your budget will get you a pretty nice place, last I was there (last year) we saw a 2 bed house in enclosed yard with air con in 1 bed & large kitchen for 6k a month. This was behind the temple in Lamai though which is a propular area with thais & long term farang & not particually sedate,
