I have a TP Link router and, about 20 meters away, a TP Link repeater. Some devices (Apple) can access internet via the repeater all the time. Others (Samsung tablet) can sometimes and sometimes not. Others (Sony Xperia) can never access it. How can I get universal access?

Do your Samsung and Sony products connect consistently with the TP Link router?

WiFi Repeaters may be convenient but introduce new issues into a wireless network.

Do both Access Points have the same SSID name?

Try setting your TP Link router so it doesn't use mixed encryption. Try setting it to WPA2 AES (not WPA/WPA2 or AES/TKIP)

If there are variations on how you can configure the repeater this sometimes creates issues when used (eg changing the repeater SSID name to differ from the original).

No. Samsung connects capriciously.

Sony only connects if i turn off the repeater and the wifi setting on the device and turn both on again. Walk away to signal near the main router and the Sony loses connectivity until I repeat the process. Use the Sony from a midpoint and the situation is hopeless as repeater and router move in and out of range.

Both access points have the same name.

Will try your suggestion.

Thanks for your help.
