I'm looking for somewhere to have my wedding party outside of the usual hotel package offered.

Maybe you could specify where you are....in Pattaya I would recommend the Art Cafe. Outstanding ambience, excellent food and nice hospitality.

When are you planning on it? If its soon. then best to have it indoors as its the rainy season. How many people?

Plan to have it around December - 100/150 people. Most will be my wife's family and friends.

The hotels we've seen are ok, but seem a bit dull, and expensive!

Leave it with me and i'll ask the wife. We originally went to look at hotels before we got married. But we decided on Chiang Mai.

What about one of those big boats that do daytime tours on the river? You could probably get either one of the purpose made 'luxury' liners or a more traditional rice barge. Could be a nice evening and probably a fair bit cheaper than a hotel and a more interesting experience as well.
