There are several houses in small farming villages available for rent. The problem is they are rarely advertised and even if they are they would be advertised in Thai.

You need to go to the area you want to live and ask around. For example in my wife's village there was a house rented by her sister for 1000 baht/month.

Renting farm land can be expensive and unless you plan on farming it that would not be very feasible.
