Popular Post ArtHay Posted September 5, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 5, 2014 So I'm an ESL/EFL teacher with more than a decades experience teaching all over Asia. But I'm 54. Do you really think it's a good idea to eliminate qualified people from your search based on a ageist agenda? Particularly given the reduction in native speaker numbers resulting from the immigration crackdown? I already have a job so I'm not really interested but I find any type of discrimination highly distasteful. 9
Popular Post streetlite Posted September 6, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 6, 2014 I am very animated and active in my classroom of P 1,2,3,4 students. The children love me and the Teachers appreciate me. I have a Masters degree in Education. I'm a retired teacher from America. I'm 67 years old. I wouldn't apply to your school out of spite due to your age discrimination. 6
golfhacker Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 I understand why you feel that way as I am 51 years old however I prefer honesty rather than wasting your time.
zeichen Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 "Only those who fill the above requirements will be contacted back." What requirements? Degree, experience, skill set not important. Sign me up cannot wait to work for a fly by night operation. 1
golfhacker Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 "What requirements? Degree, experience, skill set not important." Of course a degree and tefl are required. Would you apply for a job as a driver without a driver's license?
zeichen Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Your priorities were not listed in your advertisement. Sorry but a TEFL isn't a teachers license it is a very minimal qualification that gives a basic understanding of what EFL teaching is but really one years experience gives you a lot more. Perhaps giving details on what your school's teaching methodologies are what levels and ages the students are might get you actual responses from qualified experienced teachers. Your post will get you nothing but short time dead beats. 1
phosphorescent Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 It might also help to know where it is. 1
Somtamnication Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Why would someone send a cv for a job where no salary is mentioned, no location info, no school or classroom info, no contact hours mentioned? 2
Thighlander Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Some schools prefer the younger, as they are more likely to be naive enough to work illegally, and will be a lot easier to short change on payday. 1
golfhacker Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 Thanks for all the professional PM replies. The interview list is now full.
