Where to take kids that has beer also?

Featured Replies

My father will be in town soon and I will have to keep him amused while taking care of my five year old. Are there any places in Bangkok where it can get him a beer and my child can play also?

I would have imagined the question should be...."Is there anywhere I can bring my child to play that doesn't sell beer?...Just an observation.

I guess that depends on what kind of beer your child drinks.

You can get beer in most places, however beer sales at supermarkets, 7/11 and ect have restrictions on what time of the day you are able to purchase it.

Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza, Patpong are a few places which come to mind.

I'm sure this isn't helpful, but I would be asking "Can my dad do without beer for a few hours while we take the kid out?" If the answer is no, there are bigger questions to be addressed.

Surely ! You need to address some fundamental issues over child care, and being a responsible parent.

Just get the old man an " escort " for a few hours, so he can play, and you can care for your child

Easy

No wonder there are so many alcoholics, it seems that everywhere an average man goes there has to be beer.

There's bar on Soi 7 that would do.

You can get beer most places here, I believe even in places like dreamworld you can get a few beers unlike US Disney world which does an alcohol search on entry. So if you are going specifically to places for kids you should still be okay to relax and have a couple of beers.

Doing the opposite though is a bit more challenging, going for a beer and looking for the places also to be child friendly. In the UK for example a lot of the Sunday brunch pubs have play areas for kids and it is a considerable draw for families, I have not seen as much of that here, maybe some of the hotels might cater for this or your larger department stores.

Places like Chok Chai farm would likely be ideal and meet both needs.

On the food front I know MK Gold on Ekamai has a large kids play den, by large I mean in terms of space rather than for old kids who refuse to grow up, there are other places for them and admittedly myself at times.

My kids too young to need run around space yet and there are quieter bars like Hemingways that are a reasonable pitstop with very young kids after a walk round Queen Sirikit park on a Sunday afternoon.

Lumpini Park, perhaps?

Or perhaps not. No alcohol in Lumpini or any other park for that matter.

Good to know. That would have been embarrassing, huh?

Tesco Lotus has a play area and a beer area with beer girls. Only during certain hours like 12 to 2 and 5 to 9

Not wrong.

not so much helpful as judgmental.

I'd say off hand by a cooler small throw in a 6pak or more ice head to park .

Yeah food land he can play with the ladyboys.cheesy.gif

so you want to get piss faced and then eventually forgot your child or too drunk to care ...strange parenting

i dont recall him saying any of that.

I just discovered loads of new bars in Central World Plaza. Don't know if your kid likes it there though. Paragon has the aquarium in the basement but i have never seen bars there.

You can bring dad to the bars in central world and then you walk to Paragon over the skywalk and go to the aquarium? The bars in Central World are at the entrance from the skywalk and then after you entered the mall you turn left and then straight. Many bars there and they look old style european.

Not only judgemental, self righteous too...

I guess the people who make these kind of statements can't enjoy a beer with a meal, or when socialising with family and friends. They can only see alcohol as the evil that must be consumed until drunkeness ensures...Sad lot of individuals who can't control themselves, they rely on some warped moral code drummed into them by like-minded parents and, drummed into to their own kids to perpetuate the nonsense they spout!

Talking to you too belg.

At home? Have a BBQ

It is actually easier to get an "escort" for your dad then a decent place to play for your child in BKK.

Sad but true.

Hotels with a Sunday Brunch are a good option (but not cheap). Peninsula has a brunch with childrens entertainment - can get kids option for your child and the beer/wine option for your Dad.

Some people here have serious issues.

I guess the difficult part is finding a place where children can play.

Regarding beer, there is nothing wrong with having some beers.

OP, maybe look for some hotel with a nice pool area, where children can play and dad can sit in a lounger and order beer from the bar.

How old is the kid?

Is there any point answering that?
