Where can I buy bricks to make a gas BBQ?

Featured Replies

I'm going to build a gas-powered BBQ in my garden, (gas-powered, so I don't have issues about lkighting the charcoal etc.).

I can build the supporting walls from standard bricks, and the BBQ shop by Homepro sells the gas jets and lava stones.

But I need to construct the bed for the hot lava stones, which will be laid over a couple of parallel gas jets, with the BBQ metal grid positioned above the lava rocks, (I can build different height supports to allow for hot or very hot...).

The brick base where the lava stones are laid will get very hot and I'm sure that I'll need to use heat-resistant bricks.

Any ideas where to buy these? The BBQ shop didn't know where to buy them.

Check the thread - I already replies yesterday about the underwear :)

You don't want the lava rock laying on the bricks

You want a iron grate between the gas jets and and lava rock and on top of that a separate cooking grate for grilling, which should be moveable so that you can control the heat via the distance between the cooking surface and the lava rock

see this diagram of how it is supposed to work:
