is the immigration on the bridge affected by floods?

Featured Replies

I have to drive up from Chiangmai on sunday, and pick up some things in upper Tatchilek. My question is .....is the bridge still open?

I am not sure anyone can give you a definitive answer for sunday. I seem to remember it being closed briefly during recent floods but can’t find the post. It will depend on the flooding situation on the day you drive there. If the weather is good there shouldn’t be a problem.

Yesterday an officer from Chiang Rai called to Mae Sai for a question on my residence permit and she said it was still closed. Not sure about today. Give them a call.

I just put a detailed post on the Tachilek topic. I was in Mae Sai yesterday. Bridge was open to pedestrians, closed to all vehicles. Water nearly overflowing bridge. Policemen blowing whistles non-stop (that's their job description: blow whistles all day), and loud men's voices droning on loudspeakers, as you'd expect.

Hi guys,

Any news on I have a visa run on Wednesday and was just wondering what the current situation is

Thanks
