a question about mobile internet packages

Featured Replies

hi all , if I get an internet package for my mobile phone do I need a wifi to be able to have internet in my mobile? or can I have internet anywhere in Thailand without any need for a wifi conection?

Wifi & mobile data is different and you no need wifi to connect mobile internet like 3G

Now all network nearly covering all major tourist area for 3G.

3G is "Mobile Internet". This is a package you pay for on your phone and the signal comes from the phone masts.

Wifi is normally at fixed locations (coffee shops, bars, restaurants, your lounge), and is usually free; you can connect to this on your phone and save your 3G data, which is normally limited.

Most phone menus have "Mobile Networks" as one menu option and "Wifi" as another.
