Takeover by Bangkok Hospital

Featured Replies

While it is difficult to say whether the takeover of the Phuket International Hospital by the Bangkok Hospital is a good thing, one hopes that among their priorities will be to immediately improve the situation at the International Hospital's dental clinic. In sharp contrast with the Bangkok Hospital's clinic which provides a competent and courteous service, the International Hospital's clinic is run in an inefficient and incompetent manner by a dentist who has his own private clinic in town. The atmosphere here is also pretty unpleasant compared with the professional and caring manner at the Bangkok clinic. Also while various kinds of dentists are available on site at the Bangkok Hospital, you have to wait at the International clinic for someone to visit Phuket from Bangkok or go toi the private clinic of the dentist in-charge - a very unsatisfactory situation as the private clinic is very old with an ancient X-ray machine compared with the state of the art equipment at the Bangkok clinic. Would be interested in your experience.

Sounds terrible, why use it?

I haven't visited the dental unit in Bangkok Phuket Hospital, but one of my doctors shares the waiting area. It seems to be a very well appointed, professional and efficient clinic. Judging by the patients I see go in, they have a lot of medical (dental?) tourism.

why even bother to visit these overpriced hospitals if you don't have a top of the notch insurance of course...
