Same old same old. Job is priced up. 20-30% of the cash for the job is removed. Everyone takes their cut and they have to half the amount to pay for the materials. Therefore everything is not fit for purpose and substandard.

The lack of shade which the Thais crave is cut away so the only shade has to be bought, by sitting under an umbrella on a deck chair on the sand.

If the trees were left to grow and provide much needed shade the locals and visitors would hardly venture onto the hard gritty, dirty sh*tty sand.

A few years back the huge tropical almond trees on Jomtien beach were chained sawed off at the base. But Karma works in strange ways. In the pathetic vain hope of getting more bums on seats on the beach we now have an almost deserted tourist industry.

You reap what you sow and if you sell your soul to the devil be prepared to pay back, big time......

And the umbrellas on the beach block the security cameras from seeing/recording what goes on underneath them. Surely they must now remove the beach umbrellas for "security reasons." There must be a lot of "bad guys" lurking underneath those umbrellas. Security solution 101: 24/7 beach patrols! There was no need to remove the trees. It was a FUBAR move for many reasons that have already been discussed.

No they could have installed lower lamps to light the area. The stadium lights are ridiculous. And removing the trees ? Just plain incompetence - what else could do you expect ?

That end of of Beach walk by Walking st is a disaster zone. The pump/parking lot and the shabby overall look with moto taxis that block the footpath.

I wait 20 minutes to cross Beach rd so I dont have to put up with walking by there.

First time visitors are oblivious to all this mess so as long as there is a constant supply, the city/city hall does not care what a mess they made.

That is until this walk of sand really starts collapsing in near future
