Public Health Ministry shows full support for Ebola outbreak control

BANGKOK, 30 September 2014 (NNT) - The Public Health Ministry is planning to propose to this week’s Cabinet meeting a plan to support the control of the spread of the deadly Ebola virus.

Public Health Minister Dr. Rajata Rajatanavin said that there is now an ever-urgent need for the world to control the Ebola outbreak, which has continued to intensify in West Africa.

According to Dr. Rajata, he has suggested to a recent international meeting on the world health security that a field hospital equipped with 1,700 beds be set up to handle Ebola-infected patients as the countries where the outbreak has been reported could not cope with the rising number of victims.

He added China and Cuba have offered to send their medical teams to help carry out the project while Thailand agreed to send in volunteers, medical supplies and donations.

The Public Health Minister said he will propose all of these plans for the Cabinet to consider on Tuesday.

At the same time, Dr. Rajata said that he has already instructed executives of the Department of Disease Control and the Department of Health to step up their offensive plans during the next three months to rein in the possible spread of Ebola virus and AIDS in Thailand.

No need to worry..... Thailand hospital has claimed they have the cure for Ebola..... Everything will be just fine.....If you can beleive a single word that any of these publicity announcements say. Thailand is fast becoming a joke on the world stage. And now The PM is going to cure the Southern Unrest by next year.... interesting to say the least.

It already is a joke. Although I have to say, enough of laughing already. It is so daft, it's really not funny anymore.

Thailand has both a vaccine and cure, so no need to be worried. I have not seen this announced on CNN yet

but I am sure they are just putting the story together. whistling.gif

No problems, we have a cure. Also going to stop all the unrest in the south by next year, stop all tourist murders by banning bikinis, make all the soapies on TV help the people become good citizens by PM writing them himself. At least when we had a democratic government, be corrupt or not, we weren't the laughing stock of the rest of the world.

Siriraj claims to have... well they claim to have something. But a vaccine is not a cure.

That would also mean they have live Ebola virus to play with, but this article says they don't have the laboratory they need for playing with live Ebola virus http://www.establishmentpost.com/thailand-announces-cure-vaccine-for-ebola/

The same article refers to Mahidol University - parent of Siriraj - claim a few years back to having found a vaccine for HIV.

Pretty scary to think that they might have sent Somchai off on his motorbike to pick up a few vials of Ebola blood from the airport without telling the ministry of health they had ordered some off ebay
