sustento Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 I had an Ebay moment the other night. You know - late at night - alcohol taken - seemed like a good idea at the time. I finished up with a pair of trade-in Lumix LX3s, two batteries, one charger, one instruction manual. One has a battery door that needs a fingernail to open and a badly scratched LCD screen. You can buy spare screens (not the actual LCD but a protection screen that's fitted) from Ebay for about 10 quid. The other one has half the serial number rubbed away but has the protective layer still on the LCD from new. They're both obviously well used but both work well. 80 quid for the pair.
Tywais Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 If they work, that is can actually take a photo and all controls operational, I would say that is a very good deal considering they cost new around 11k-12k baht. The LX3 has quite good reviews also. Released I believe around 6+ years ago. http://www.trustedreviews.com/Panasonic-Lumix-DMC-LX3-review http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/panasonicdmclx3
sustento Posted October 3, 2014 Author Posted October 3, 2014 I bought them from a dealer that sells on Ebay. They have a one month guarantee with them.
sunshine51 Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 Sustento...I will withold comment until you post a pic or two from the cameras!
sustento Posted October 5, 2014 Author Posted October 5, 2014 Here's one straight out of the camera - just resized. Could have been a bit sharper
sunshine51 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 How's the pic quality outta the other one or is it similar? IMO...you got a pretty good deal.Sharpness can always be adjusted a bit in post as the last thing done. Colours are nice. The leaves at the top of the flowers seem to be more in focus than the flowers and that could just be an AF adjustment or DoF adjustment in camera if possible. Can't go wrong for 80 quid!
sustento Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 Yes both cameras produce the same quality of picture. I think the sharpness thing is a focus problem. It was a bit windy and I had the lens wide open so I probably missed focus when I took the picture.
sunshine51 Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 ^^^ That said Sustento...you got one hellova good deal!
