Accommodation in Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

As a freelancer, I am taking into consideration to move to Chiang Mai. Would like to know what costs I can expect for accommodation (long term, 2 people, 1 dog) and what would be the best places (online) to start looking for rent (condos, houses, apartments , all options are on the table).

Most Condo's will not accept dogs. Renting a house on the outskirts is a good option rents are cheap but I would think there could be a security issue unless your dog is a watch dog. Then there is transportation if your a couple on the go a car or motorbike would be a necessity. I consider these two options a pain in the butt. Personally we live in a central condo with pool shopping hospitals services within walking distance. We also push bike for further trips. If your a Christian the Chiang Mai Christian Community is a good option for activities used items furniture cars etc. Apart from that Chiang Mai is the place to be cooler when its hot in humble opinion but things are changing here condo's are sprouting up all over like weeds.

You'll probably get better info if we move this over to the Chiang Mai forum. A link will be left here also.

Topic Moved.

Best off doing a search, too many variables. Digs anywhere from 3k to 150k; more condos in city, more houses in country; more westerners in the south, fewer westerners in the north. Almost always best to get a temp place for a few months and do your searching here... can only do so much online. wink.png
