Bangkok: Former anti-government protest guards arrested for weapons

"Chaiya and Sumet reportedly told police that they had no connection with the weapons, which they said belonged to a "friend" who dropped them off during the PCAD protests."

It would seem that most of the people arrested and charged for possession of 'war weapons' over the last months are in fact really innocent, but just happen to have the 'wrong friends'.

What, no comments about "nightly cowardly grenade attacks by the red shirts" (the only people who had grenade launchers apparently coffee1.gif )

Just a guess, but it may be related to the complete absence of cowardly nightly grenade attacks against Red Shirt protesters.

Is this evidence of further fracturing of the right wing coalition that has usurped power in this land.

I wonder if Suthep will dare to discard his monks robes anytime soon?

Suthep will only Rise again as a last resort if he's needed to defend the Motherland and squash the Unbelievers - but the Generals have it under control for now, so All is well.

According to police, a raid on the suspects' residence turned up one grenade launcher, three tear gas canisters, two frag grenades, 62 homemade explosives, and five sets of body armour.

Grenade launchers, fragment grenades and homemade explosives are NOT items used for self defence....

Unless you live in Thailand of course!

Knew a Thai guy in Surin who has, among other weapons, a coupe of grenades he bought off some border policeman. He kept them in his bedroom in case of unwelcome visitors in the night. I kid you not. He had no idea what would happen should he pull the pin and toss them at the would be burglars.

But there were several "attacks" on roofs, driveways and garden walls of judges, the NACC and even politicians, giving the impression of "nightly cowardly attacks". Of course suthep and his backers wouldn't dream of such tactics, and as "we all know", only the UDD have grenade launchers....................coffee1.gif

When you finish with your coffee come back with any facts to support your innuendo.

They're going after everybody, whether Red or Yellow. Good job! thumbsup.gif

Correction.

The army are going after the reds and the police are still ONLY interested in the yellows.

Nothing changed since May.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is exactly why I wonder about the reason for that bit about the drugs investigation (#23) & whether it is true, or just there to muddy the reputation of the anti govt protesters who dared to attack "Pol. Lt. Col. Thaksin's chosen government"

Wow!! The bit about the yellow guards being found with a grenade launcher must have been the only good news you've seen since early May, fab4.

and if you care to check up you will see that they actually caught several reds that were responsible for them as well as being able to match the serial numbers from grenades used to the reds caches they found, strange that hey, there goes another of your bull***t biased theories
