Uncanny....I just come from the hospital yesterday and been told I have a torn medial meniscus, have to wait another 2 weeks in a brace and medication before reassessing.

yeah , i managed a slightly torn menicsi for years, then a change of fitness regime and it was just constantly painful ,so had an athroscopy done.

tbh, post op the worst thing 4 me was the effects of the anesthetic, f--cked me 4 a few days, such a little scar surely means a little op? or maybe

i'm wrong on that one, but a mate had an alternative anesthetic for a groin op he literally watched it being done and didn't go through the crap

that the standard anesthetic seems to bring.

anyway do the re hab and maybe a touch more, and your be right as rain in no time

oh,,, wiki has quite a good page on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tear_of_meniscus

I'm wondering how long afterwards till I will be able to walk around...and get back to swimming?

i seem to remember I was walking around, within 3 /4 days

swimming,,, now theres a frigging point, i flew over to Thailand a week or so after the op and started swimming after a week or so in thailand and promptly got an infection, and a blown up knee aint what u want, what with the heat ect ect. from what i was told after the event by a specialist in Thailand best keep it dry until the wounds well healed.

from what i recall jocks, on reflection to have avoided the probs i got, i reckon I should have put fresh bandages on after every swim.
