Pros and cons of using an agent for the 800k
From Police order 327/2557. 4. In case where an applying alien does not meet the full qualification stipulated by the criteria herein, the alien must be notified of the non-permission order and must depart from the Kingdom within seven days from the date on which the permitted period has lapsed. 5. In the case where an alien applicant does not meet the full qualifications stipulated by the criteria herein or in other cases not specified in this Order but a competent officer equivalent to or higher than inspector is of the opinion that the alien has legitimate reason for staying in the Kingdom of Thailand, the application shall be forwarded to the Commander of the Royal Thai Police or an authorized competent officer for further consideration of the alien's application. How many agent applications where the applicant didn't meet the financial criteria do you know of where the application was forwarded for consideration by an authorized competent official of Inspector or above. > Answer none > money talks. -

Frozen in time: British expats losing out on pensions in Thailand
Off-topic, but briefly to clarify.. "..registration, insurance, maintenance and petrol into account?" registration? insurance? Don't know about those things! I just drive to the shops.beach etc 🙂 For my medical insurance, I am somewhat healthy for my age, no statins etc, no high blood pressure etc, so my premium is low and has never risen since I have never claimed. $500 deductible on a claim and only my prostate bph/utis excluded (prostate cancer is fully covered). As for frugal living, I don't consider that I live a frugal life. My rented home was built just a few months ago, so all modern and well-built. I have hearty home-cooked meals every day, swim in the mountain river outside my door every day, go to the beach a few times a week, enjoy my ham radio hobby, teach as a volunteer at the local Burmese school blah blah blah. My stress levels are zilch, nada, non-existent 🙂 -

Patong - The Wake
In answer to this post, I don't insult other races, I just post as I see it and experience it, and if it is insulting to them, then so be it. I'm not sure how mentioning the fact that a Chinese guy was clipping his toenails on the small table in Starbucks is insulting to that race, it's just what it is – – a filthy habit and pure ignorance. There are other instances, all relating to the habits of certain races, including pure rudeness and disrespect to other people, but I won't go into them here. I will however share an incident which happened many years ago when I was on a bus in Malta, having taken a holiday there after working in Nigeria for a total of 17 months .......on the double seat in front of me were a couple of Nigerians who were being very rowdy and suddenly one turned round to me and asked where I was from, so I told him, and he asked me if I'd ever been to Nigeria, because it was a beautiful country. I speak as I find, so I said to him that I had lived and worked in Nigeria for some time and I considered it to be a "sh!thole!" of a country and I would never go back. He turned back to his friend and never bothered me again! -

Ukraine ... Enlighten yourself
Actually, in fairly recent history Russia has been the victim of invasions by Poland, Germany, and before that was invaded by many other nations. So it is very understandable that Russia seeks a buffer between itself and other nations. I understand the antipathy towards Russia, before I went to Russia I was the same, and even then, more happened to make you anti-Russian than pro Russian, however, Russians are decent people, and they do not wish for war with the West as it turned out. -

Elon Musk: Trump as the ‘Only Way’ to Preserve U.S. Democracy, Says Billionaire
If he/she has the qualifications and passes the tests to become a US citizen, is one, and has registered to vote, then of course I am. Why wouldn't I be? And in anticipation of your response, how long do you think a citizen should have to be a citizen before he/she should be allowed to vote? Or what other qualifications do you think he/she should have? -

BREAKING NEWS IRAN ATTACKS ISRAEL
Those only apply where the opposition is a protected person where he has surrendered or placed in detention or wounded , it doesn't apply to current combatants , those attacked in the pager episode were not protected people and therefore it wasn't a war crime . "‘War crimes’ are serious violations of international humanitarian law, committed against a protected person or object (civilians, combatants placed out of combat such as in detention or being wounded, or those who have put down their arms -

Inferno bus in use for 54 years
Agree, in South Australia all thanks have to be removed and certified after 10 years. No proper roadworthiness testing here. The government should cop at least 50% of blame for allowing these dangerous vehicles to carry passengers. Everyday you see dangerous vehicles on road, tyres sticking out past body 6 inches or more. Guess that idea is to rip legs off motorcycle riders or people walking. Brake and indicator lights all colors and flashing erratically. I have never ever had brakes tested on renewal inspections. I operated school transport vehicles for 20 years, the inspections were not easy to pass. Fail a small think $200 reinspection fee, so guess what we made sure everything correct first time. -

They should just give the three southern-most provinces to Malaysia and call it good.
