Had meniscus knee problems myself which has never been right since, so while i wish Mendy well, 2 injuries in short time is a worry. Noticed Mendy doesn't go storming forward now like he used to - remember a game i swear he was in the penalty box more than Kun - so Pep has obviously tinkered with his game, but his defending does seem dodgy. Definitely another left back coming in the summer to add to or replace Mendy.

Looks like Foden will be signing his contract extension soon.

Must be nice to have the England captain in to replace him.

I've had 2 key hole surgery on both meniscus' and I'm still running as fast as a slightly overweight hare. Did you have surgery?

At least your team has some weaknesses. Mendy for one and Kyle Walker would be next in line.  He just runs really fast, and is popular with the lads.

I like Walker. He works his tail off. Though if he could cross the ball City would win every game 8-0 instead of 6-0.

Not to be outdone I tore my ACL a month short of 40. I was never the same and ended my basketball "career" prematurely. Michael Jordan had nothing to worry about though.

I still walk real well and run if necessary for the MRT.

Not to be out outdone. A speedboat ran over my leg whilst swimming in the sea in Kos, Greece. Almost lost my leg and ended my Shotokan hobby through tendons now being shorter. They fixed me up and I can dance, which is great cos I couldn't dance before. I also run for last orders

A torn ACL is like snapping a bone in every limb, twice, Meniscus is like a forearm break.

And that my friends is the shitest analogy since analogies were invented.

Didn't feel lucky at the time but if I hadn't stopped swimming it would have been both. Had to master a round house with my left leg but was never the same. Me and the lads arrived in the afternoon and all copped off and it happened the next morning. Don't ever get stuck in a hospital on a Greek Island

Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world with a worldwide fanbase. Manchester City aren’t one of the biggest clubs in the world and don’t have a worldwide fanbase, but have very rich owners. City as a club can’t generate the funds like United, so where does their money come from? Surely that has to be investigated thoroughly. Redarmy71, Liverpool.

I get tired answering this stuff, treading the same ground. Here’s a grand Mufti, with the answer.

So are you saying that only clubs that earn money by selling lots of inflated merchandise to the Far East should be allowed to win trophies? How is that good for the sport in any way? We may as well just cancel the matches and hand the trophies to the best marketing department. Le Grand Mufti, St. Albans.

Sums it up nicely for me.

Does for me too. Hope you don't mind but the question and answer have been mixed together in your post, so in my re-quote I've separated the two

What I like to see most is close competition at the top and the difference being between good management, desire from the players and maybe in the end a bit of magic from a couple of players.

You can't expect a level playing field of 20 clubs but if there are 4 or 5 in the mix at the start of the season then its a proper league.

I hope that continues.

Post removed deflecting into "human rights" etc.

Man City CEO Ferran Soriano responds to FFP allegations

BBC Sports Editor Dan Roan today asked Soriano if he had any comment to make on the matter as he left a hotel.

"Mr. Soriano, can we just ask you about Der Speigel and the Football Leaks story? What do you have to say about that? Any message to the fans at all who are concerned about the way it makes City look?" he asked.

But the 51-year-old refused to be drawn on the issue.

"No thank you," he responded. "Thank you, I have no comment."

Knowing how much people love counting empty seats at the Emptyihad (is that how you spell it?), City have decided to join in the fun by increasing the capacity again.

Currently City report 98% of seats are sold out.

Plan is to extend the north stand (behind the goal leftside as the camera shows a game) by another 7-8000 up to 63000 - the south stand was increased a few seasons back.

"Pep Guardiola’s philosophy to blame for Germany’s sudden decline, says Hans Peter Briegel"

Straws...clutching.

yeah but to get a 'level playing field and a 'proper league' everyone HAS to abide by the SAME  rules, when someone doesnt it 's unfair and   spoils things for all

Agreed and if some have broken the rules they should face punishments which reflect the seriousness of their actions....not slaps on the wrist and a nod to carry on.

yep, there's always been stronger teams than others and that has ALWAYS been the case  i totally accept that and respect the reasons for it,, however if they aint followed the rules that EVERYONE ELSE IS  FOLLOWING then it not only gives them an unfair advantage it just devalues any victories they get and it  can make it a boring lege to watch, like atm i aint EVER  watching man city , no doubts they play wonderfulLY ATTRACTIVE football but they've  made themselves un competative  IMO  u know they're gonna spank most if not all , its  boring ie UNCOMPETATIVE FOOTBALL

I've yet to watch a highly competitive game of City v the rest this season to be honest but you can't knock their manager as he's brought in some real quality and has them playing excellent football.

Its not healthy overall for the game but then how much is it if a youth policy as Man Utd had back in the early 90's turfs out over half a team of utter quality?

I suppose its far more acceptable is the answer.

Geez there's  some crap on the forum these days! City won the Premier in record fashion last season after not having won it for was it 3 seasons. This season we've just edged ahead of FOUR other clubs. There's nothing new here. In the 13 years ive been wasting my time on this forum, for the most part ManU were the dominant club for many years but i don't remember the constant vitriolic comments.

Ronnie, Wolves away was very competitive City game, they had a go unlike most clubs and gave us a game. Shame we dropped 2 points to a handballed goal.

3minus2 what are you on? I agree that if a club has broken rules they should be punished but to the best of my knowledge nobody has proven City of any wrongdoing. You don't  seem to understand that. It really is boring that EVERY post has cheating comments. I do hope you'll be going on the ManU and Chelsea threads saying they are cheats after the recent ALLEGATIONS but i doubt it, as you, like all the spurs posters, seem to have an agenda with City - bit of jealousy innit.
