A curriculum vitae is the same as a CV. (mainly BRIT; in AM, use résumé Sheesh, even your Monthy Phyton doesn't seem to know the answer.

Not the sharpest, are you! whistling.gif

That's from "Collins Dictionary." They might not be as sharp as you, Doodledoo.

Except that I didn't write curriculum vitae. As I said, "Not the sharpest!"

Many people get the wrong answer to

9 ÷ 3 × 3.

Many think the answer is 1.

I would love to post a calculus question.

Need a forum for math teachers ( but hard to type math symbols)

Give me any math question you like....give me something to do....but make it tricky....

Primary school kids get the following but usually adults can't.

One has three, two has three, three has five, four has four, five has 4, six has three.

How many does seven have?

The problem is that in modern speech and writing, "their" is used for PC reasons to avoid having to write his or her, especially when the gender of the candidate sending whatever is unclear or unknown.

"Everyone should do his or her best in whatever situation he or she finds himself or herself in."

Oh yeah that flows right off the tongue!

The use of 'they' and 'their' as singular pronouns has been common for centuries (biblical references) but for a short time became somewhat less popular in the 18th century before regaining popularity again in the 19th and 20th centuries (for reasons such as they chewy mouthful above).

Using 'their' allows us to construct the much less clunky sentence "Everyone should do their best in whatever situation they find themselves in".

Seven has five

I personally find it weird that kids at high school often don't know the order of solving equations. I taught an M1 class last year, and was flabbergasted at how many weren't aware of how it works, as to me it's the logical next step after kids have learnt multiplication/division (Since then you'd get them to practice mixed equations).
