Hospital Take Home Medication

Featured Replies

Took my wife yesterday to see the Ear, Nose and throat doctor at Asia's #1 hospital in Bangkok. To cut a long story short. The doctor indicated that my wife's allergy had cleared up,but he recommended a further month on medication, and prescribed a nose spray and allergy tablets. She paid the bill, which I thought was over the top. We then went to the pharmacy at the Emporium shopping centre and I was amazed to find the same medication at half the price. The moral of this story is don't buy your medication at hospitals.

yes......known.....and often they prescribe unnecessary things to make some extra Baht

My experience has been that hospitals and doctors here overprescribe, I have refused many times, for instance paracetamol and antibiotics when I already have some left from the last time and know they are not needed.
