Bangkok Marathon to return Nov. 16

BANGKOK: -- Bangkok’s annual marathon returns later this month, for an unspecified reason.

What that is is entirely up to you: Are you a masochist? Lost a bet? Trying to impress someone?

Whether you have a reason or want to run sweating through the streets of the capital just for the hell of it, the Standard Chartered Bangkok Marathon “Run for a Reason” returns Nov. 16.

Although the name might lead one to believe it furthers some noble cause, there is no grand purpose to the race beyond finishing it.

Cool, I'll be signing up for the half marathon.

P.S: Cocounts Bangkok website is a web design disgrace. facepalm.gif

Well, diddums... my girlfriend tried to sign us up and it seems inscriptions were filled almost a month ago.

who wants to run 42 km in a very polluted city is beyond me

I know a large group running the full marathon

Anyone know where a good place might be to watch this, if travelling from the Sukhumvit area?

Paraphrasing Kennedy, we choose to run not because it's easy but because it's hard. biggrin.png

I did the half Marathon in the morning, very early in the morning, it started at 4AM (full Marathon started at 2AM), crossed the Chao Praya a couple times and went all around the historic city, Wat Prakeaw, Parliament, Dusit Palace, etc, etc.
