'Crazed Foreigner' Attacks Pattaya McDonald's Store

Absolute nonsense, crazy stuff can happen with any nationality, there are a small minority of idiots from any country.

You are absolutely right and i fully agree.

I deleted my previous post because the posting i quoted got removed from a moderator. Luckily, the text is still in my clipboard.

Similar comments (a lot and much harder) about Russians, Indians or Arabs and last but not least Thais seems to be welcome widely and barley criticized by others. But i see, these nationalities are almost not present here.

While my initial post was more meant ironic, we see almost on a daily basis harsh and nasty comments about above mentioned nationalities......

So where do YOU come from......?

Yet another problem foreigner in Pattaya, what a shock. My hunch is after some time in jail, he won,t be deported and if he is i bet he is allowed back into Thailand on his next flight to cause yet more problems. If the government would start cracking down on these goons by giving them a no entry stamp in their passports they might think twice about causing problems. Sadly just another typical quality foreigner that Thailand allows in by the millions yearly.

Perhaps the above mentioned nationalities are the ones causing the most problems.

Whenever I've witnesses belligerent bahaviour in Thailand it's usually by a head banging drunken Brit

I've got to the stage where I adopt a faux Russian or German accent rather than be associated with my home country

Thailand has underpriced itself over the years with the result that British benefit claimants with a dash of benefit fraud can let rip on holiday here for a couple of weeks

I think it depends were you hang out. The biggest tool ive seen this week was German being marched out of NEP pissed out of his brains covered in blood.

Idiocy does not discriminate

Sorry....sad.png

I agree with you there are many sweeping generalizations made here

Maybe in the future if you are trying to be ironic make it more obvious (wink.pngthumbsup.gifwhistling.gifblink.png ) as examples,

not everyone on this forum has the Irony Recognition Software (IRC) installed so backlash will inevitably follow thumbsup.gif (note the use of ironic smiley)

I understand how he feels everytime i go to McD's they always ask me if I want the set or fries or a drink even when I've told them I just want a cheeseburger.

And you are...............?

not British smile.png

Frankly, when such sort of crazy stuff happens, most time British citizens are involved.

Really.....................coffee1.gif

And you are from the perfect country that you will not tell me............rolleyes.gif

I thought mindless dopes were prohibited from making silly unsubstantiated drivel about any particular nationality on this forum.

Obviously not,

I bet that the MacDonalds corporation did a study on how many more sales they could make, if somebody asked you.."do you want fries with that". It is kind of a ridiculous question. For example, I just order the number on the menu. Give me everything that goes with that...certainly...but I am not going to pay more for it.

How about those people that stand in line for 10 or 15 minutes, but will not decide what to order until their turn comes around. Then they take more time to look at the 4 or 5 options they have. Finally, here comes all the questions.....Supersize?, Fries?, take out? eat here? Half hour later I finally get my ultra thin sheet of hamburger on a big bun.

Amazing, how people will stand in line forever...just to get that little hamburger, cold fries, and a flat coke.

The most predominant trait I see on the Forum is how many TV posters get wildly off topic and start blathering about something that has absolutely nothing to do with the subject at hand. This was about a foreigner who brandished a knife at a Pattaya McDonalds''s, and a great many subsequent raves were about the assailant's ethnic background and minor spats that ran between posters on ethnicity or nationality. Seems to me that we ought to clean up the idiots on our own forum before commenting on the actions of others who are reported in the news media. Enough is enough! Please have consideration for the rest of us who have to wade through this garbage.

A butter knife?

Scary stuff

Stabbed in the eye or neck is sufficient to kill a person or seriously injure them. Ever been poked in the eye with a finger?

Scary indeed for the person attacked.

Oh really. And exactly how many occasions would that be?

Good luck with the fake accent.

Read the posts about declining tourism and see how many intelligent posters comment how Thailand had become more expensive whilst the quality has not increased. I couldn't find any posters that thought prices here were under priced, apart from you. So what information did you base that on?

As for benefit claimants - prove it.

Normally photos of the perpetrator are displayed for the world to see...

I wonder why they haven't done so this time?

Could it be more BS starting to creep out ???

Are they diverting attention to the dangers that come from Tourists???

And away from the reality that Thailand has another tourist death in Koh Tao?

The police and volunteers are most helpful at Soi 9 police station. One can easily go down and verify the incident.

Clearly you don't know what a butter knife looks like. This thing could go straight through someone's heart like a knife through butter.

First, thats no butter knife and second an intelligent man knows to be wary of any knife in the hands of a methhead junkie.

It's the usual rush to defend any foreign nutter. If the guy with the knife had been Thai the TV knuckle-draggers would be demanding the death sentence.

I walked into an empty McDonalds on 2nd road (near soi6) stood at the counter looking at the menu then ordered a cheese burger off a girl that was standing in front of me - Thai guy to the right of her said I couldn't order unless I moved about 3 feet to the right (he was extremely rude and aggressive), I ignored him and asked the girl again for a my order (the place is still empty) the Thai guy started shouting and at one point actually offered to fight me, I continued to ignore him and the girl then took my order, eventually I got my burger and left, I remained polite and calm the whole time

I sent a report of the incident to the McDonalds Head office in Thailand and did actually get a reply and the complaint was progressed over a couple of weeks, not sure what action they eventually took as I did not want to participate further

For me it is easy to see how a customer could become enraged with staff at one of these establishments

I never went to a McDonalds since and don't intend to - KFC rules

"For me it is easy to see how a customer could become enraged with staff at one of these establishments"

Of course, the O/P didn't involve staff at this McDonald's and assuming that because one person in one restaurant acted strangely with you means that it would be reasonable & understandable for anyone to become enraged with staff at any McDonald's makes no sense, but thanks for sharing.

makes no sense, but thanks for sharing.cheesy.gif cheesy.gif cheesy.gif cheesy.gif

A butter knife?

Scary stuff

I wondered if someone would take this tack... Hey, a violent lunatic without a weapon is scary enough. A dull butter knife wound would be painful... Remember what an angry Joe Pesci could do with a pen in Casino?

Sometimes the news thread comes out with some kind of headline that is sure to bring out some controversy.

MacDonalds seems to be a big thing with this forum. I really am suffering from overexposure to topics like...fat lady throws chairs because she could not get breakfast. Now this "Crazed Farang" with the butter knife goes nuts in McDonalds.

Cannot wait to see what comes next....at...McDonalds.

Maybe we are fed this on purpose? So that we can bicker and argue. Surely some people hate MacDonalds...huh?

Can we get over this?

Is MacDonalds a fetish topic? Perhaps we need to add a forum just for McDonalds...so as to keep up to date.

just wondering...even your thoughts are irrelevant to McDonalds. Why not open your own topic about moderating, and what people ought not do? Seriously. Or become a moderator. Lets get back to the big McDonalds news.

You traveled half way around the world to eat the same crap food you left behind. Let me guess unable to order Thai food ?

Maybe he has lived here for 20 years and wants the occasional change from rice and noodles. Are we obliged to eat Thai food because we are in Thailand?

What happened to using the "right tool for the right job?"

Evidently this man just had an "English or Aussie" breakfast....the sort where you get butter..and a butter knife...for your toasted bread. He, perhaps was unhappy with his choice, so took the butter knife with him and went to McDonalds. I bet they were not serving breakfast...and he went crazy.
