gyms near mbk?

Featured Replies

Could somebody please recommend me a gym w instructors near mbk ? Please also tell me the fees if possible

Thanks in advance

There's an athletic club in the hotel attached to MBK. Really nice. Then there's Fitness First at Paragon, but I found em to be crooks. True Fitness is at Central World, also crooks. Now Fitness under Phayathai BTS is ok, but kinda run down, and crowded. And there's a small, prison style gym on the east side of Phayathai Rd., between MBK and Ratchathewi BTS. I bet Chulalongkorn University has a nice fitness center too that you can use on a daily rate. Regarding trainers, Now, True, FF, and the athletic club should all have English speaking staff available.

does anybody know the price of the one in mbk

I believe it's between 2 and 3K per month, depending on the length of contract. It's a really nice facility and the staff are very polite. No hard sales like you get at FF or True.

thanks for your advices , 2k 3 k seems reasonable if they are polite

If you wanted to travel to Din Daeng they have the the thai-Japanese Youth Centre, which has an annual fee believe it or not of 40baht/year for an adult, yes 40 baht.

You can find the website by googling the name, as it outlines the rates etc. I have pasted in italics an article that was written describing some of the things they have there.

"The gym is a tad old school, but its big and has everything you need. They have a full size boxing/MMA ring. Lots of bags, lots of space to skip, run, jump and whatever else you like doing.

They have two floors of equipment; the first proper 80s bodybuilder style; solid plate weights and machines for every part of the body, and then an upstairs which is more leisure-centre like. Theres a nice ab section upstairs too.

It doesnt stop there, either. They have

A full size running track (stadium)

A full size football pitch with beautiful grass

An Olympic -sized swimming pool (you need a health certificate from the doctor to use this. Very clean.)

Squash courts

Outdoor park-style gym

Onsite shop (x2)"
