Lite Beer Posted November 22, 2014 Share Posted November 22, 2014 Former CSD crime buster dies in unexplained circumstancesBANGKOK: -- A former Crime Suppression Division (CSD) senior officer who was transferred to inactive position in the Royal Thai Police Operations Centre early this month has died from fractured spine bones after falling from high ground. The officer, Pol Col Akarawut Limrat, 41, was pronounced dead at Phra Mongkutklao hospital at 1.32 am on Thursday.Circumstances surrounded his death was unclear but the death certificate issued by Ratchathevi district said he died from fractured spine bones at Phra Mongkutklao hospital after falling from high ground.His body was later sent to Wat Laksi temple.A solemn cremation ceremony was quietly held next day at 2.00 pm with only his relatives and 6-7 colleagues attending.Pol Col Akarawut, former chief of Sub-Division 1 of the CSD was transferred to an inactive post along with CSD commander Pol Maj-Gen Chaitat Boomkam on Nov 14.The order, signed by Royal Thai Police commissioner Pol Gen Somyot Pumpunmuang, did not specify the reasons for the transfers.He told reporters briefly that he had important job for them to do.Two days earlier, Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) chief Pol Lt-Gen Pongpat Chayapan and his deputy Pol Maj-Gen Kowit Wongrungruang were also removed from their jobs.More than a dozen other senior police officers have been transferred in the past six weeks.Pol Gen Somyot, who took office on Oct 1, has not commented publicly on the recent shake-ups, but some police sources have said that some of the officers transferred had been aligned with “certain political camps”.The sources said some of the vacancies were expected to be filled by policemen aligned with Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon, the leader of the powerful Burapha Phayak military clique that includes Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.Police spokesman Pol Maj-Gen Prawut Thawornsiri said on Saturday that he was not aware of Akarawut’s death and would look into the matter. It is surely a pure coincidence, that the unwillingness to bring the real culprits on Koh Tao to justice and now this hit, points to the same highranking member of the RTP!! The soldiers couldn't exactly say "he had the wrong political allegiance" could they? Especially concerning the big cashflows!! I can imagine that the victim here had threatend to "sing" after being removed from his post, and to prevent any further stupid ideas from his fellow officers, "someone" made an example of this poor guy!! Probably because so few people believe that the police investigation into the tragic murders of Hannah Witheridge and David Miller has been worth spit, and every unexplained death (and there seem to be a few) is now of major concern. Maybe because he replaced his predecessor not long after the Koh Tao murders, and then was soon removed from that post and then was killed died? Whoever high up said that he didn't agree with the powers that be should then be asked why he was appointed to this new position in late October. What changed?
