Electrical Repair Shop

Featured Replies

I don't need Home Pro, Global, Amorn or any of those types - particularly Siam TV.

I have a large floor fan with a 3-speed switch that has defaulted to a one-speed. I need probably a small, mom & pop electrical repair shop that can either fix the switch or match it up as best possible so that it will work properly.

Home Pro and the big boxes don't really know what a switch is, much less have one. Amorn 'mai mee' and went back to Facebook. The best example of Thai service was Siam TV, who said that they could order it, but it would take too long and I didn't want to do that, then back to Facebook.

Is anyone aware of a small appliance electrical repair shop that could help me? Bonus points for quality directions, not some random point that I don't know where you are starting from.

Many thanks for helpful answers.

go past the Prince Hotel (it is a one way street) over a canal to a T intersection, about 30 meters past the Prince. Google Prince Hotel if you do not know it

Turn right and look quickly on your left where you will see an electrical repair shop, open to the street. it is about 10 meters past the T, you will probably see an old tv opened up on the bench.

That man is excellent, very fair inexpensive prices.

Don't think he speaks much English but never tried to find out. You do not need Thai, you can plug it in and show him the problem.

He is one of the guys I leave things with, no receipt and no longer ask how much it will cost, just when I should come back to pick it up, usually a few days.

he does TVs, fans, video players, cd players, ultra sound cleaners, Mac chargers, rice cookers .....

Look for a local shop with TV's, fridges etc piled up in and outside. We have one on the road in to Ban Wangtan, near the Wat.

Amorn has a great repair shop separate from the store , with about 10 or more technicians that can repair anything. BUT they appear to have moved. Anyone know where they moved to?

Another shop that does electrical appliance repair is located on Soi 4 of Chang Peuak Road, just a short distance west of the bus station.

As the streetview link shows, it's the shop with the red signage. Very little English is spoken. http://goo.gl/maps/YK04m

Siam TV repair/service leaves VERY much to be desired. Left a floor fan there once for 3 months... never ready yet... then the chap showed me the large room stacked with units awaiting some repair or another - and no technician around to do a thing. Dropped it off to one of these street shops , done in one day.

Thanks again, Dante. I took the fan by there today, and he was located exactly as described. Yes, he could fix it. Yes, it will be ready tomorrow.

You are welcome. That you went to him makes my day as I really like the man, he is a skillful resourceful pleasant guy.
