Sorry, Another IPTV question - everyone might be interested in this (at least the replies)

I've seen the IPTV topics all over the place. Seems as if there are at least a dozen different IPTV choices. So, the BIG question I have is: Which IPTV mimics most the True Visions channels or which IPTV has the most English language channels. Anyone have an idea or personal experiences?

No doubt in my pea brain.. Cable Streamer . watching at the moment.

Is that a IPTV?

Sorry not up on all the correct terms and tech stuff.

See if there mods will let the link stay. http://www.cablestreamer.com/thaiand-cable-tv-channels/ I have followed its development for over 3 years and have seen no adverse as reliability OR honesty. Yes its IPTV. It was 11,400 baht includes the first year subscription. (3000 baht yearly renewal) Placed the order on a Sunday and arrived by DHL that Friday and with in 30 minuets it was up and running. It has every channel that TRUE or CTH has and then some. I'm on TOT 10mb and it is great. Language for us is english as subtitles are Chines. NO Thai.. The only problem I have is getting the remote back from the wife.

You say the language is English which is fine but can I ask if there are always Chinese subtitles or can you switch off the subtitles ?

Thanks for the information and the link. Yes it is still allowed. An awful lot of channels sub title in with no Thai will keep the wife away. Going to give this some real heavy thinking. Looks like so much there it will take a half an hour to plan the shows for the day. Amazing.

will PM you.

TV tuner card.

Here is another hint:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MythTV

I meant as a plug in.. Within XBMC.. I used to use starstreams paid streaming system for a while and they had an XBMC module for their streams.. You can then build it into the menu structure under live TV and so have movies, TV shows, Music, LiveTV all in the XBMC interface.

I have now moved all my home media nodes over to android boxes.. So no PC to add a tuner card and the HDCP also often crops up as an issue

Yesh I have navi X.. and PseudoTV.. Etc etc..

But I would still pay 3k a year for the above channel list of HD streamed from Thai servers.. Especially with an EPG.

U--tor--rent k--A--T Pi--ra--te B-a-y allows for the creation of ones own daily HD package

But does not offer you live streaming of sport or news.

but simply using vipboxasia will allow streaming of almost EVERY sporting event and many now are broadcast at very good quality.. and even recently starting streaming most USA and UK stations ... all for free..

Yeah I know all the streams but they are too unreliable, not to mention fiddly. I want Sky sports I click on Sky sports. Simple.

I'm a total newbie with IPTV. Like to ask:

1) I will normally want to watch it on my TV. However, if say I'm travelling, either in Thailand or abroad, can I bring along the settop box and play it on my PC? If so, how can it be done?

2) I'm on 3BB 10mbps plan and runs if off a wifi router. Is the cabling only between the settop box and TV. Do i need to wire it to my router as well, or it runs off the wifi connection?

3) Some websites, such as Bloomberg, provide a live TV streaming service. Would I expect the speed from IPTV to be similar to this website? During peak periods, watching the Bloomberg live TV from their website is not that good on my 3BB connection. If I get the same performance from the IPTV, i may have to upgrade my 3BB plan or forget about using iptv.

4) Does it work in Malaysia?

5) On my TV, I guess I can still use my remote control to toggle the Input Source (between "TV" and "HDMI") if I want to watch the existing programs on my TV, instead of the IPTV channels. Correct?

Thanks
