Where to buy traditional tea pot (1 liter or more)

Featured Replies

I’m looking for a spherical tea pot (for brewing tea), preferably able to hold a liter or more.

I looked at the kitchen department of Rimping and Central Plaza (Kad Suan Kaew), but they only have small pots which are decorated with gold flowers or similar.

Any recommendations for where I can find a more traditional and big tea pot?

Try Macros they definately have them, also probably Tescos or BigC...

Warorot Market has hundreds of styles, big size.

Thanks for the suggestions.

As for Warorot Market (which is within walking distance, so what I’ll try first), what part/area of the market would have them?

The ones at Warorot (mostly Lampang china) don't pour very well, I have found.

Teapot spouts require a judicious fettling, a skill not much practised in Thailand I'm afraid. It also seems that the diddler is not much used here either as the appearance of both handles and spouts would benefit from it's application.

Got one at Warorot, north/east part of the building with a lot of dried fruit and deserts. Not pretty, but only 70 baht and holds more than a liter.

Will check out what Robinson have next time I am there.

How well does it pour?

I have no complaints, even if I had paid more.

Pouring a cup of tea and then placing it directly on the table does not leave a mark, i.e. tea does not run down the side of the pot after pouring.

That said, I generally use a thermo for the tea after it has been brewed, and have only brewed a single pot so far, so it’s not a thorough review, but I did some additional tests just for this reply.
