Police found shops illegally set up in Laguna this morning (December 13).

PHUKET: Cherng Talay police found many small shops illegally set up in Laguna this morning (December 13) after receiving a tip off from Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket Hotel.

The 14 shop vendors ran away when they saw police in the area, which came as a surprise to the customers.

Police found the shops to be selling swimwear, food and beverages, as well as tour packages in the Laguna area.

Police said loudly, “We didn’t come to arrest anyone, we only came to check the area. But, please come speak with us, or you will be taken by police trail to the station.”

The police told Mr Wirat Karaket, 44, the leader of the shop vendors, along with the other 13 merchants, that they are not allowed to work in the area.

The representative of Dusit Laguna denied speaking with The Phuket News about this.

They will argue Laguna said they would allow this, because Laguna has given an inch to the ex-beach vendors. They will never go away.

hey; there all over kamala beach as well

50 meters from the police station

They are all set up in Surin car park as well...

Those people are at least in back of the path. Further down the beach in front of the Muslim cemetery, there are businesses set up on the beach and they are multiplying daily.
