Do I need a member card to buy from Makro?

Can I as regular end user customer buy from them or do I need to apply for their membership? In case that the membership is required, is it something that it can be done right in the store? I saw they have the registration form online but I am not sure if it's just for online shopping or what...

No problem to get a "day pass". Just be sure to ask before you start shopping.

Someone told me they just do this for foreigners, because we buy more high-end stuff, but I'm not certain.

First visit at Makro Khon Kaen: no card needed.

I speculate: there are two different card types.

One for resellers/dealers, one for private end customers.

Now I use a card from the step daughter who has a shop license.

Seems to be a dealers card?

I always get a big detailed bill (sheet about A4 wide).

Others seem to get a small bill (about 2 inch wide from a paper roll).

Full price incl. tax is paid in both cases.

No tax deduction.

But as written: just speculating.

Just googled through a MAKRO website in Thai.

And obviously there is something like a "wholesaler card".

Proof of business license needed.

In Thailand there's no need for a Makro card. I shop there quite regularly. No card, no problem.

Same here thumbsup.gif

And same here.

One of the benefits (the only benefit?) of having a card is you are then on their mailing list for special offers.

Quite often they have some fantastic buys, especially on hardware items but unless you get there within a couple of days they are sold out. At least that is the norm at the Roi-Et branch.

You only remain on the mailing list if you spend a certain amount each month. At least that's the rule at our local Makro.
