Where to find a good selection of sun screens? (Looking for a specific type)

Featured Replies

Is there some place in Bangkok with a very good selection of sun screens? I had one with me but had to lose it because Air Asia would have charged me 900baht for check in luggage and it was 250ml (god I hate this airline)..

I'm looking for one that is a spray dry oil type sun screen. The one I buy in the UK is called Calypso Bronzing Oil spf15, sounds gay I know but it's literally the only sun screen I've found that dries immediately and feels like you haven't put anything on your skin at all. I hate those creamy and oily ones..

I once bought one that looked like a nearly identical bottle, called banana boat or something. It was horribly thick oil like olive oil or something that smelled like strong banana sweets lol..

Any help?

Try Boots or Watson's. Look for "Banana Boat? brand. They do an oil free SPF 50 spray.

If you are from UK I suspect you need a lot more than SPF15 here. Would highly advise using in the 50/above range - not nice taking care of skin cancer later in life. I have been using Boots spf60 tube cream and do not find it objectionable (normal white cream that spreads easily). Actually there is not a great deal of varieties available as most Thai avoid the sun and are much less subject to the skin cancer issue.
