Yingluck must come to answer questions in NLA on January 16

1-9-2015-7-58-25-PM1-wpcf_728x413.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra must appear at the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) to answer questions about her rice-pledging scheme, NLA vice president Surachai Liangboonlertchai said yesterday.

He said the NLA has now scheduled the ex-premier to answer questions by NLA members on January 16, while the former Parliament president Somsak Kiartsuranon and former vice president Nikhom Wairatpanich are required to appear and answer questions on January 15.

He said NLA members have started to submit questions which they were doubtful and wanted to ask to the NLA.

The NLA members have until Monday to submit questions to ask Mr Somsak and Mr Nikhom, and by tomorrow to ask Ms Yingluck before closing the submission, he said.

He said the NLA will then open impeachment against Mr Somsak, and Mr Nikhom on January 15, and Ms Yingluck on January 16.

The NLA vice president said Mr Nikhom and Ms Yingluck must appear in the NLA to clarify all submitted questions to be raised by NLA members because both had appeared to clarify their roles in the NLA on the opening of the first day of their impeachment cases last week.

Therefore on the closing date of the impeachment, they can’t avoid but must appear in the NLA by themselves to answer questions, he said.

For Mr Somsak who didn’t appear to open his impeachment case on the first day, Mr Surasak explained that Mr Somsak could change his mind to come in the closing day to defend himself against charges as he is a damaged party.

It depended on him whether to come or not, he said.

Touched on a public concern that the impeachment which might result in the removal of all the accused could obstruct the government’s reconciliation efforts, Mr Surasak said the NLA was also aware of the issue but was not concerned about it.

He said the NLA has been trying to explain to the public that it was a matter of legal procedure as earlier made clear by the prime minister that it was the matter of pursuing the laws, and it is evidence that will decide who is right or wrong, and it is the right of the NLA.

He assured that all NLA members will stay neutral without prejudice in making their judgement on the cases.

The NLA is correct , not that this matters , one would expect the former Prime minister to appear at any hearing regardless of what the reason , it really isn't the most opportunistic time to endear their rhetoric in reconciliation, but just when would be a good time , the answer lies with the PTP supporters and what they think, possibly very negatively I should imagine. coffee1.gif

Why would they think very negatively, their puppet and her gang tried to rape the country, a large number of farmers got nothing and they tried without any morals or conscience to lock themselves into power to continue the rape and all the time they were hoodwinking the rural masses, and more, into thinking they were building and protecting democracy.

It that's what turns the reds on then what hope is there for progress?

She didn't ran away and will continue to surprise her detractors by turning up and answering all the questions and even posing some challenges to the NLA to be neutral without prejudice.

She does what her brother tells her - run or stay. He won't mind if she's punished and he can spin it.

Do you think she will really answer questions, like what the real figures are, why she lied when previously making assertions or claiming false G2G deals, why people who tried for raise concerns on this scheme were threatened, transferred and intimidated, and why she never bothered to attend any meetings which she was supposed to chair?

She hasn't answered zilch so far. Can she challenge the Shins to be neutral without prejudice and accept the verdict without squealing it's all a conspiracy against them and threatening to mobilize their paid mercenaries to cause trouble.

Q: Ms. Yingluck, can you explain why your 'self-financing scheme' managed to lead to losses. An amount acknowledged mid-2013 by your government as US$4.4 billion.

A: The Rice Price Pledging Scheme has successfully addressed poor rice farmers and your questions only show a disregard for them.

Etc., etc.

While I am not sure they will be able to nail her on willful corruption I think what they are going to do is show that the PTT was and is run buy people that do not have the rights of the little man in mind and that she was incompetent to run things.

The sad news for her is that the person with the answers is travelling

"He assured that all NLA members will stay neutral without prejudice in making their judgement on the cases".......Yeah right, they couldn't stack this charade called the NLA with more Shin haters even if they tried!

They wanted people of good character with high moral values, who understand patriotism involves altruism. Do you expect such people to like parasitic criminals who pervert their country's political system for their own gain?

If it's good enough for the Junta, it should be for everyone else.

"it was a matter of legal procedure as earlier made clear by the prime minister that it was the matter of pursuing the laws, and it is evidence that will decide who is right or wrong, and it is the right of the NLA."

It is indeed the right of every military coup-led government to establish kangaroo courts to ban overthrown government officials from the public so as to bar them from further political opposition. What's the point of having absolute power if it can't do this? In this case we have an Army General cum prime minister and legislative branch created illegally in violation of the 2007 Constitution which is being used as the legal justification to try the overthrown government officials. The pure mockery of these proceedings overshadows the allegations against Yingluck's administration - it is no longer a matter of guilt or innocence but an exercise in totalitarism.

Hokay???? So lets wait till Friday night, Eric shall we, and see how erudite and challenging her questions are. I'll be watching the news, waiting to be agreeably surprised by her intellectual contributions to the constitutional fabric of her country. Perhaps you will be right. Stranger things have happened. Lets hope there are not too many big difficult words in the script sent from afar. Oh yes, I forgot. (Thanks Baerboxer). And a big box of tissues on hand.

She turned up last week, but it has been reported already that she actually didn't answer the question that were asked, most probably because as usual she has no idea what she's talking about.

The same will be repeated on the 16th, she will show up but she will not answer the questions, simply because the upstairs rooms are unoccupied.

Oh, but there you're wrong, my dear chap. It would seem that for some it's not a matter of guild or no guild, but one of obfuscation. Some like you seem to want to drag anything in the equation which may help to divert.

Ms. Yingluck as PM of a government which lost hundreds of billions on a scheme positioned and defended as 'self-financing'. Ms. Yingluck who stated to have selected her cabinet herself with clear criteria of 'knowledge', 'capabilities' and 'potential'. Ms. Yingluck who stated in the last censure debate that she and only she was in charge of her cabinet and government. All that has nothing to do with the NLA, it happened before. The mockeries are in your description only.

Go Yingy, wipe the floor with them. Got to give them marks for bare-faced cheek though.

Indeed, the bloody cheek. How dare they ask 'to the point' questions. How dare they ask about the hundreds of billions lost on a 'self-financing' scheme. Do they think a PM has nothing better to do than answer annoying questions? What do they think this is, a democracy?
