Both motorists involved the crash were "slightly injured," police say.Jirapat, the son of an estate developer, told police he had been racing his Ferrari with his friend, who was driving a Porsche, prior to the accident. He admitted that he was driving at "a very high speed," but insisted that crash took place because another car stopped in front him suddenly, forcing him swerve and crash into the Toyota.Pol.Lt. Jiranan Thongchanglek, an officer at Highway Police, said Jirapat's insurance company has agreed to pay for all of the damages to the Toyota. She added that police have determined the Ferrari to be legally-registered.Full story: http://www.khaosodenglish.com/detail.php?newsid=1421130783 -- Khaosod English 2015-01-

Popular Post Chang_paarp
Friends of Jirapat also arrived at the police station in an unsuccesful effort to dissuade journalists from reporting on the incident, citing fears that Jirapat's parents would find out about the accident. The missing or totalled Ferrari in the garage might be a hint to the parents. Maybe a phone call from the insurance company would be a bit of a give-away. Do the friends think this bloke's parents are as stupid as they are?
Costas2008
Ahhhhh.....a fellow Ferrari driver............ Bad luck, mate, unfortunately that Yaris had to be there, otherwise you could have shown this Porche driver that his car is just a lot of garbage.

I'm guessing that they do and given that the parents gave this bell-end a Ferrari it would seem they are.

Popular Post daveAustin
Hey, that's fine, he's rich and driving a Ferrari, we'll just slap the 500 baht fine on the Yaris driver instead, since if he wasn't there the accident wouldn't have happened.

Bad luck, mate, unfortunately that Yaris had to be there, otherwise you could have shown this Porche driver that his car is just a lot of garbage. That depends on what Porsche it was, notice there a a few 'RUF' Porsche here......... that would then show the Ferrari driver that his car is just a lot of garbage.. Not sure where this comes into it ?? paper say's totaled his 10-million baht Ferrari ? maybe is a copy ? or a heap of junk that is why he could not stop in time ? cheapest Ferrari here is 23 million up to 39 million !! Edit: looks like the F430 spider, costing 24 million, maybe 10 million is the value the Insurance will give ? Valentine
It's ALWAYS somebody else's fault. My first thought too. It was the Yaris driver's fault for having to apply his brakes with a Ferrari going at high speed behind him.
Popular Post iReason
"Jirapat has been charged with reckless driving and property damage, Pol.Lt. Jiranan said. He was fined 1,000 baht and released." That'll teach him. And any other Thai punk that reads this story. And they put kids in leg-irons and jail for acting in a play Whacked.
z42
Am I missing something, but admitting you're racing to the cops surely should result in some kind of action, especially seeing as the story has made national news. The cops doing sweet FA about it is disgusting, especially as that mushroom picker still rots away in jail. Rotten to the core, sickening
Rumble
Looking at the photo, the Yaris must have been traveling in reverse when it was hit. or was it parked on the other side of the road. if it was then looking at the damage, the other car could not have been traveling too fast. In the US he would be arrested and have to pay bail for reckless endangerment and speeding and reckless driving and racing and maybe a few more charges. A 30 dollar fine is a joke. He will be doing the same thing in a couple months when the insurance replaces his car

timmyp
>but insisted that crash took place because another car stopped in >front him suddenly, forcing him swerve and crash into the Toyota. The charges indicate otherwise. “Jirapat has been charged with reckless driving and property damage” And, you left this out: “He admitted that he was driving at "a very high speed," Selective reading?
