Is there anyone who can confirm the possibility for a "visa run" from Nakhon Phanom and over to Laos?

I can see from Thaivisa`s info about visa runs that the above mention places are

Immigration checkpoints. But do someone have more info?

I just talked with the reservation at "Nakhon Phanom River view Hotel"

She said that many foreigners go there, cross the river with a boat and get "stamped in/out"!

I have never been up there but are on the way in a few days in connection to a sport arrangement, and thought it was a possibility to extend my multiple Non-O there because the place is very near the border.

Any info welcome.
