I need to get from Chiang Mai's Arket bus station to Chiang Mai Airport. I wil have some luggage so four-wheeled travel would be preferable to two-wheeled travel although a motorbike would be doable at a push.

I suppose the only realistic way to do is to "charter" one of the songthaews?

1. What kind of price would a songthaew be from Arket to the airport (Thai speaker price :P)?

2. Is there any kind of regular scheduled bus from Arket to the airport?

Thank you for any advice.

about 15 taxi cabs in front of Arcade Bus Station, along with an army of Tuk-Tuks and Songtaews. Find somebody to split it with you. Your baggage limits your options. I've walked from arcade to CM Gate, a number of times, then Yellow to Airport Plaza for 10 THB.

No worries, after a number of calls, the car rental firm agreed to drop the car off at Arkhet. No need for a songthaew.

So, it looks like there are no public buses to Chiang Mai Airport then.

There's no public buses to anywhere in Muang Chiang Mai.

Grab a songtheaw, you and your bags, no-one else, 150 baht max.......a steal.

Short walk? With luggage, mid-day from Plaza to Airport? Get real man.

Actually I'm a woman and my boyfriend and I have had no problem with luggage and the walk. Take a songthaew from Plaza to the Airport if you have mobility problems.

If you want to be even cheaper you can take the free shuttle from Amora Hotel to Airport Plaza which runs every hour though I can't see why 150 B direct from Arcade to the Airport is considered expensive. Some people just enjoy doing it the cheapest way I guess.
