" A morning stroll through Bangkok's Benjakiti Park....

Hello Viewers!

Well yesterday morning i took a rather pleasant morning stroll through one of Bangkok's more unusual parks.I returned to Benjakiti Park hidden away in the " business world " of Bangkok. It was very quiet as always with a few farang jogging in the park ( more waffling than jogging.... ) and a few ladies enjoying the delights on a bicycle ( fabulous ) the people were all rather friendly. If you wish to explore yourself then the easiest way to find the park is BTS Asok Exit 4 then turn right and it's about 300 meters on your right!

I have attached a few photos that i took on my mobile whilst " strolling in the sun " .....

Greetings to you all.

What's unusual about it?

Well i have explored all the Parks in Bangkok and probably most of them in Thailand. But Benjakiti park had that feeling you were in America. The Park was a very different style to the others which made it unusual ( but absolutely fabulous as all the parks are in Bangkok...)

Being " unusual " is one of the greatest compliments in the world today....

I like that park. Do my walk there at least 5 days a week. 4 times around the lake and now most of the left over stuff from the show they had a couple of months ago is gone it is almost back to normal.

Swimming pool?

Are you sure you're not thinking of Benjasiri?

Thank god for that. Almost 3 months of putting the stage together and so far about 40 days to get rid of it.

Total mess.

Sorry yes you're right....time for coffee!

I wasn't correcting him - just pointing out that Smokie was thinking of the wrong park.

Maybe read the thread more carefully before you jump in next time.

Nice park, didn't know there were parks like that in Thailand?

The most unusual thing I noticed was the lack of people enjoying it!!

If it were in China it would be packed.

I guess the Thai people are too busy working to pay for their next meal.

Good post,..nice pics.

+1....Enjoyed your photos. Thanks

Nice photos. Will seek out the park.

If you have a bike, there's a cool raised cycle route between Benjakiti and Lumpini too - makes for an interesting ride.

Never been there before as we're most of the time in Hua Hin, but thanks for the tip canarysun.

Beautiful park, will definitely make a trip there when in Bkk again

What a breath of fresh air. That was a very nice respite from all the other crappy articles on politics, the Junta, martial law and US envoy's getting called in for "Attitude Adjustments".

Don't pay too much attention to the negative commenters -- can't imagine anyone being negative about your post and yet there they are. To them something nice or good being posted by a well-meaning poster is like food to a cockroach...they have to come out of the woodwork and eat it up then excrete it out the other end, but their life spans aren't long and they are easily stepped on.

I thank you OP.

nice one I really do love Thai parks especially Lumpini at any time. Its so chilled.

Thank you for your kind words viewers....

It's quite interesting that most people from all over the world think of Bangkok as a busy nonstop city that is ridiculously noisy and filled with horrible fumes from all the traffic etc etc.But not me! I actually go to Bangkok on a regular basis to escape the noise and to relax and unwind in one of Bangkok's splendid parks. Some of the parks (Rot Fai Park) i like to rent a bicycle ( 30 baht ) for the afternoon and enjoy " a picnic lunch for one " whilst sitting on the grass and just watch the world go by.It really is truly wonderful.......

Greetings,

I've walked that trail from Suk soi 10 to Lumpini park .. the trail is right next to a canal and get to see many old wood houses in BKK.

People who think Bangkok is all activity and noise have probably never ventured far from a main road. Take a trip a half mile or so down a soi and you often discover pleasant, peaceful neighbourhoods that are nothing like most people's perception of the city.

"asoke bts" nope not going. i cant see any necessity to provoke the pee police unnecessarily.

Thank you for not coming around my neighborhood .... no one needs rabid old goat around cheesy.gif
