TUbliss is a good option , but some tire sidewalls ( some makes of tires are less of a problem than others ) dont seem to "seal" against the inner sidewall of the rim , resulting in air loss. Are those rims steel or alloy.

They are not.

That is why papa will use regular [HD if available] tubes,

as iterated in #298.

TUbliss [as on my '85 TY350 rear]

uses a thin high pressure [100+psi]

'inner-inner' tube to lock the bead to the rim

and obviates the regular tube.

You lost me mate, this is all too complicated for me, it will end up costing more than the bike. I am still running stock tyres....but then I am a "Cheap Charlie".

They don't sell this stuff in Khon Kaen anyway, I had trouble getting the stickers for mine...

papa took the two steel wheels to Pattaya Tire

[AKA  Maxxis]

[actually, their mocy annex a few shops north]

on Sukhumvit [near 3240]

for mounting of Vee rubbers.

They used regular cloth tape as rim-tape.

front tube B170

rear tube  B200

labor         B50

total          B420

Super, cheap, professional service.

Recommendo mucho.

Lad was happy with B100 tip.

Awaiting ordered mounting bolts

for brake-rotors and sprocket

from Lifan dealer in Nakua.

So now have had the 2nd set of wheels all built & installed

with trials-tires and two rim-locks at each end.

This set-up is working well on the trail, running 9 PSI.

Sketchy on pavement at this pressure tho.

Believe I could drop pressure to 4 or 5 psi, need be.

Total cost of two wheel-assemblies:

21"/18" factory-built wheels w/ bearings;

Chain, sprocket, two rotors, bolts;

new trials tires, tubes;

four quality rim-locks...

just north of 11K-baht,

parts & labor.

Enhanced dual-sport capability, very big.

;-)

pair of Vee Rubber VBR308 trials tires ordered

@B3400. (on order from Vee in BKK; local dealers could not get.??)

Pretty cheap and currier delivered to my condo; street legal too.

Also purchased a pair of IRC tires for the Climber

[from local dealer]

@ ~B5500, if remembering correctly.
