I just got this email called my G/F and told her to expect the call.

Dear Mr R

Thank you for your email regarding a prospective marriage visa application by Ms xxxxxx. I apologise for the delay in responding to you however I have been out of the office over the past week.

I have reviewed Ms xxxxx's application and finalised her application today. I am unable to divulge the outcome of the details of my decision regarding the application as Ms xxxxxx has not yet been informed and because I am restricted from divulging the details of a person's application to an unauthorised recipient. However, Ms xxxxx's case officer, Ms Pxxxxx, will be in contact with Ms xxxxxx in the immediate future regarding the outcome of her application and provide advice regarding visa evidencing.

The case officer called my G/F today to say the visa was ready to pick up tomorrow, she sounded upset when my G/F asked to pick it up next Monday(that is when we will be in Bangkok for our flight to UK). She said to my G/F "I thought it was urgent".

I guess they dont like it when you email.

Anyway we are over the moon, I know we still have a few years of further applications but we will be together for them.
