Me and my wife made out application on 19/01 for a UK spouse visa. Yesterday 05/02 we received the email notifiy us this has been processed and documents can be collected. The speed made me suspect something has goen round, and I believe I found it. While my salary is £24,000 a year, there has been a mistake by payroll who credited me 3 days unpaid leave one month, then corrected it then next by removing 6 days, bringing the gross down to 1,450, from what I've read this will mean an instant failure on finincial reasons. Am I correct in thinking this?

Easier said than done, it's going to be a hellish wait this weekend. From what I've read further though it will definately be a refusal, though on the bright side we can reapply immediately under category B as my earnings over the previous 12 months are above the required amount despite unpaid leave. Though they do have 12 months payslips and bank statements so who knows, maybe they will be kind.

Why re-apply? Just contact the ECO and state it was only 3 days, by my calculation on £24000 @ 3 days would be ok that would still be within £18600 per year, 4 days would take you over

We have already received the email to say the the visa has been processed and "was received at the UK Visa Application Centre on 2/3/2015". Doesn't this mean it's already too late?

No, whilst the right of appeal has been removed it is still possible to request a re-evaluation, I'm not sure how you go about this, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will fill you in with the details

I wouldn't worry about the speed of the response, they don't check the applications before they go on the processing pile to sort out any instant refusals.

I'm afraid you'll have to wait for the pack to be collected or delivered, as agonising as that might be.

In the event of a refusal come back with the details and someone will advise.

Is your employment salaried or non-salaried ? If you are on an annual wage ( salaried), then they should take the lowest gross monthly income during the last 6 months, and multiply that by 12 to get an "annualised" salary. From what you say ( that the lowest month was 1450 GBP gross), that would not reach 18,600 GBP. If you are non-salaried, that is, you are employed on an hourly rate, for instance, then you could well be okay as they will add up all of your wages for the past 6 months, divide it by 6 ( to get a monthly average), and then multiply it by 12 to get the "gross annual salary".

Good luck.

I don't know how they worked it out, but we got it. All that worrying for nothing. Shocked how quick we got it and that we even got it.
